Our Story
Born from a love of tradition and a desire to keep India's ancient craft traditions alive in modern homes around the world.
Who We Are
Bridging Two Worlds,
One Idol at a Time
Shilpakriti was founded by a small team of Indian-Americans who grew up watching their parents search for authentic brass idols — ones that truly reflected the craftsmanship of home, not mass-produced replicas.
We partner directly with GI-tagged artisan clusters across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal — master craftspeople whose families have been shaping brass for generations.
Every piece we sell carries not just the beauty of the idol, but the story of the hands that made it.

The Art of Brass
01
Lost Wax Casting
Each idol begins as a hand-sculpted wax model — no two pieces are exactly alike. This 5,000-year-old technique ensures every curve is intentional.
02
Brass Pouring
Pure brass is melted at 930°C and poured into the clay mold. The metal captures every detail of the original sculpture.
03
Hand Finishing
Master craftsmen spend hours chiseling, filing, and polishing — bringing out the golden warmth that only pure brass can deliver.
